3. Hosting and Server Log Files
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. GitHub processes this data to deliver the website and logs visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes. I have no access to these logs.
Purpose: secure and reliable delivery of the website.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is a secure, functioning website.
Transfer to the USA: GitHub, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR); GitHub additionally relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

If you email or call me, I process the data you provide, for example your name, contact details, company and the content of your message, in order to handle your enquiry.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract or to steps prior to entering into a contract; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is answering enquiries, including those from contact persons of companies.
Email providers: The mailbox jb@bachent.com is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. 7. Booking a Call (Google Calendar)
The “Book a Call” and “Choose a Time” buttons are plain links to a booking page provided by Google Ireland Limited (Google Calendar appointment schedules). Visiting this website does not send any data to Google; data is only processed once you open the booking page.
Data: On the booking page you enter your first and last name, email address, phone number and company, optionally a note, and choose a time slot. The booking is stored as an event in my Google Calendar. Google sends you and me a confirmation email with a calendar invitation and creates a Google Meet link for the call.
Purpose: scheduling and holding the call you requested, and following up on it.

Required information: name, email address, phone number and company are required to book. Without them, a booking is not possible; you can always contact me by email or phone instead.
Google’s processing: When you use the booking page or join a Google Meet call, Google also processes technical and usage data, such as your IP address, device information and, where applicable, cookies, and may use it for its own purposes as described in the Google Privacy Policy. Google may transfer data to Google LLC in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR).
Retention: I delete booking data once it is no longer needed for the call and any follow-up, unless a business relationship results from it or statutory retention obligations apply. You can cancel or reschedule via the link in your confirmation email.
